The brief
Severn Trent wanted a launch for The County Cup, a new internal initiative built around friendly competition between teams. It needed to get the whole workforce talking, and it needed to be special. The timeline was tight: just a few weeks to pull everything together, with Christmas right in the middle.
The idea: a game show everyone could play
Inspired by the TV show Taskmaster, we created a fun, interactive hybrid format that gave every employee a way to take part, whether they were in the studio audience or watching from home. The result was a one-hour live broadcast packed with challenges, surprises and moments of pure fun. Contestants on set took on quirky puzzles and physical tasks, while colleagues at home played along with interactive activities.
Making the remote audience part of the action
The highlight was a Guess That Tune round played by the whole audience. Presenters lip-synced popular songs while the room listened on silent-disco headsets, and everyone guessed the tunes to score points for their teams. A live leaderboard updated in real time on set and on the stream, so each team could follow the scores as they happened.
Broadcast polish on a tight timeline
Working closely with Severn Trent's internal communications team, we handled every detail: the Taskmaster-style set, TV-style graphics, multi-camera coverage, vision mixing, sound and the live stream. It was a polished, professional broadcast that kept employees entertained and engaged from start to finish.
The result
The County Cup launched with a real buzz. Feedback from Severn Trent and employees was overwhelmingly positive, engagement was high, and the broadcast brought the whole organisation together for a shared moment, wherever people were based.
