What makes a webcast different

A webcast is one-to-many. The audience watches a professionally produced feed, usually with little or no on-screen interaction, through a dedicated player rather than a meeting tool. That's ideal when the content matters more than the conversation: a results announcement, a statement to stakeholders, or a leadership update to the whole company. Because the production is controlled, a webcast can reach unlimited viewers through a global CDN, in high quality and with no "you're on mute".

Maximum impact for important content

Our team works with your presenters beforehand on script, autocue and delivery, then films with multiple camera angles, professional sound and lighting, and a set that suits your brand. That might be a simple slatted wood backdrop with plants and uplighters in your boardroom, or a full staged set. You get a webcast that looks considered and confident.

A secure platform built around your brand

Webcasts can go to an existing channel, or to a bespoke registration and viewing microsite built by our in-house team to your brand guidelines. Security options include email-domain restrictions, passwords, confirmation emails and admin pre-approval. Everything from registrations to analytics is visible in real time in our delegate management dashboard.

Live, pre-recorded, or both

Many of our financial results webcasts combine a pre-recorded presentation, filmed and edited the day before, with a live Q&A. For Croda's half-year results, we filmed the presentation at the client's East Yorkshire offices, edited it on site within hours, published it with synced slides for the morning announcement, then streamed a live analyst Q&A to the platform and to Zoom at the same time.

All FAQs

It’s mainly how the video reaches the audience. A webinar runs on a meeting tool such as Zoom or Teams: participants can share video, audio and documents in near real time, which is great for discussion, but quality is often limited by webcams and compression, and platforms can cap numbers. A webcast (or live stream) uses professional encoding to send a produced feed to a streaming server and out over a global CDN. There’s a short delay, typically somewhere between a few seconds and about 20 seconds, but no practical limit on audience size and much higher quality. We produce both, and often combine them.

Yes, it’s a common format. We film at your offices or on location with autocue, edit on site with graphics and slide timings, get sign-off the same day, and publish at the moment of release. A live analyst Q&A can then run on the webcast and on Zoom or Teams together.
