The brief
The MICHELIN Guide wanted an unforgettable Star awards ceremony in Glasgow, the first time the ceremony had been hosted by a partner city, and we were delighted to support the project for a third year. The challenge was to turn the historic Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum into a world-class awards venue while it stayed open to the public during the day. Then the dramatic Old Fruit Market had to become a fitting after-party location, complete with partner expo stands.
Building overnight
Once the museum closed, the team worked into the early hours to create a sophisticated staging solution. It featured an 11m × 4.5m LED wall, a sleek black gloss stage and dramatic lighting, creating an immersive experience for the 600 guests. Guests arrived along a red carpet, welcomed by bagpipers, gas flambeaux lamps, custom branding and lighting designed for photo opportunities. On the way to the drinks reception, dramatic lighting and custom gobos lit the route through the exhibits.
A six-camera global broadcast
For the live broadcast we deployed a six-camera setup, including two wireless gimbal operators and several remote cameras. A dedicated video control team delivered a flawless stream to more than 30,000 viewers worldwide. White managed every show element, from content playback and stage management to full production, scenic elements and print.
The after-party
A separate site team ran the after-party at the Old Fruit Market. Working with the venue's technical team and its historic charm, they handled partner expo stands, site branding, lighting and stage dressing to create a vibrant celebration space. Meanwhile, another team de-rigged Kelvingrove.
The result
From concept to execution, the ceremony was technically outstanding and visually stunning, both for the guests in the room and for the global audience watching online.
